Materials for Clothing Hang Tags

1: PVC

Polyvinyl chloride, abbreviated as PVC, is a polymer formed by the polymerization of vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) under the action of peroxides, azo compounds, or through free radical polymerization initiated by light and heat. Vinyl chloride homopolymer and copolymers are collectively referred to as vinyl chloride resin.

2: PP

Polypropylene (PP) is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic with high impact resistance, excellent mechanical properties, and strong resistance to various organic solvents, acids, and alkalis. It is widely used in the industrial field and is one of the most common polymer materials. Even Australian currency is made using polypropylene.

3: PET

PET plastic is the abbreviation for Polyethylene terephthalate and is commonly referred to as PET or PETP. It belongs to the polyester family, mainly including polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polybutylene terephthalate (PBT). PET is commonly known as polyester resin. It is a condensation polymer of terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol and, together with PBT, is classified as thermoplastic polyester or saturated polyester.

4: Recycled Paper

Recycled paper is an environmentally friendly material made from waste paper through a six-step process. Its use helps protect the environment by reducing paper waste and promoting sustainability.

5: Cardstock

Cardstock is the most commonly used paper material for hang tags and mainly comes in two types: white cardstock and black cardstock.

6: Kraft Paper

Kraft paper is a high-strength packaging material, typically brown in color. Semi-bleached or fully bleached kraft paper appears light brown, cream, or white. It typically has a basis weight of 80–120 g/m², with a tear resistance length of over 6000m. It has excellent tear resistance, burst strength, and dynamic strength.

Kraft paper is commonly available in rolls or sheets and is made from sulfate softwood pulp through a long-fiber pulping process. It is widely used for cement bags, envelopes, adhesive-sealed packaging, asphalt paper, cable protection paper, and insulation paper.

7: Seed Paper

Seed paper is a new eco-friendly product made by embedding seeds into pulp during the papermaking process. It can be dyed in various colors and, after use, can be planted in soil. Under suitable conditions of moisture and temperature, the seeds within the paper can sprout and grow into seedlings.

To enhance the uniqueness of handmade specialty paper, craftsmen mix seeds of shrubs, flowers, and grasses into the pulp. Because the entire papermaking process is environmentally friendly and non-polluting, the seeds remain intact and viable within the paper.

Modern manufacturers continue using traditional methods to produce seed paper, and related products are exported to developed markets such as Europe and North America.
