Clothing Woven Labels
Woven labels are labels sewn onto clothes and pants, containing text, letters, and logo patterns. They are used by clothing factories, garment factories, and home textile factories in the production, manufacturing, processing, or sale of clothing and home textiles to differentiate the origin of clothing and home textiles. They consist of logos with distinctive features composed of text, graphics, letters, numbers, three-dimensional symbols, color combinations, or combinations of the above elements, and are a product of the modern economy.
Woven labels are woven on weaving machines by fixing warp yarns and expressing text, graphics, letters, numbers, three-dimensional symbols, color combinations, etc., with weft yarns. They have characteristics such as high-end, firmness, clear lines, and good soft hand feel.
Woven labels are mainly divided into woven edge and cut edge according to the process.
Woven Edge Labels
When the required trademarks are woven out at once according to the width requirement, they are called woven edge labels. This process avoids many disadvantages of cut edge labels but has lower production volume. There are also flat/satin distinctions. The characteristics are soft and stiff, suitable for high-end clothing such as fashion and suits, which are mostly used by quality-conscious Japanese manufacturers. The machines for woven edge labels are also meticulously made in Japan. Woven edge labels are generally satin labels, but it is difficult to express satin background colors, which are commonly solved by hot stamping/dyeing processes.
The machines for woven edge labels generally include shuttle machines, with colors generally not exceeding four; there are also crochet machines, which can also weave various quality crafts, and can even add transparent polyester yarns in warp yarns, called fish silk crochet machines. Besides width, total length of each color, and related processes, the cost composition of woven labels also includes the variety of yarns used. The JB series yarn is commonly used internationally.
Cut Edge Labels
As the name suggests, they are woven like fabrics on specialized high-speed machines, then cut into strips according to the width of the label. Because of the heat-melting characteristics of polyester, yarns will stick together when cut, preventing fraying. Due to this, appearance and hand feel may be affected to some extent, with better machines performing better, using ultrasonic cutting being better than ordinary electric heating knives. Strip-packed labels can be directly sent to garment factories for processing; if strict requirements are needed, cutting and folding processes are still required. The maximum width of a single computerized jacquard component is 20cm, and wider labels can be woven by increasing the number of jacquard components, thus allowing for larger shapes to be processed.
According to product attributes, they can be divided into flat labels and satin labels.
Flat Labels
Labels woven like fabrics, simply woven with one warp and one weft interwoven, are called simple flat labels. Generally, the warp yarns are fixed, either black or white, hence the division into black and white flats. For light-colored background labels, white flats are generally used, while for dark-colored ones, black flats are generally used. The pattern and color of labels are mainly expressed by weft yarns, and the colors expressed will differ due to the effect of intersecting warp yarns. As most machines have limitations on the types of weft yarns used, the colors that can be expressed are also limited, generally within 8. From the above, it can be seen that the price factors include the width of the label, the amount of warp yarn used, and the length of each color along the warp direction. In order to express details and colors more richly, doubling all the weft yarns is called double-sided labels, and if a certain color needs more three-dimensional sense, another layer of yarn is added, called heavy shuttle. Except for washing and size, most of them use flat double-sided labels. Labels are expressed with yarns, so there will definitely be differences from the original flat design, so mass production cannot be done without confirmation of small samples.
Satin Labels
Fabrics are woven with warp and weft intersecting, besides improving quality by doubling weft yarns, there is also the technique of doubling warp yarns, this process is called satin structure. By doubling warp yarns, the texture of labels becomes soft and smooth. Because warp yarns are doubled, the density becomes too high, and weft yarns cannot express patterns well, so the background color cannot be made very flexible. Only through post-processing can certain color requirements be shown. A machine is generally set to make flat or satin labels, which is relatively fixed. The width of cut edge satin labels generally cannot exceed 10cm, while woven edge labels generally do not exceed 5.0cm.
Other woven labels: such as size labels, waist labels, main labels, etc., these are all distinguished according to the purpose of the product.
Price components of woven labels: The price of woven labels is composed of material, quantity of colors (i.e., types of colors), specifications, and post-processing.
