Principle of Clothing Label Printing
Printing labels, also known as wash care labels, is a common printing technique used in the textile industry. It is simpler compared to offset printing (CPC), and the products are mainly used in clothing, shoes, hats, underwear, bedding, and other daily-use items or textiles. The purpose of the label is to inform customers about the material composition of the product and the washing standards.
The process involves exposing a resin plate using a film, with the content engraved onto the plate in a raised or recessed manner using a laser. The content to be printed will protrude. The resin plate, through the rotation of the machine’s cylinder, contacts the ink and transfers the content or data onto the ribbon.
Other Information: In the printing industry, labels are mostly used to mark relevant product descriptions. Many of them are self-adhesive on the back. However, some labels do not have adhesive and can still be called labels. Adhesive labels are commonly referred to as "self-adhesive labels."
